Location 1: Dundee

Kick off your visit at the V&A Dundee, newly opened in 2018 and the first design museum outside of London.

Next head to Discovery Point, on the banks of the River Tay, and explore RRS Discovery, the ship which took Captain Scott on his remarkable voyage to Antarctica.

Dundee is also home to HM Frigate Unicorn, one of the six oldest ships in the world, and Scotland’s only preserved warship.

Other attractions in the city include the Dundee Science Centre with its interactive science exhibitions and Verdant Works, Scotland’s jute museum.

Location 1: Arbroath

There are great transport links between Dundee and Angus, and after the bustle of the city, you will enjoy the relaxed pace of life in the beautiful county of Angus.

Visit Arbroath, a traditional seaside town with a picturesque harbour, famous for its Smokies, a wood-smoked fish considered a delicacy all over the world. The Arbroath Smokie Trail tells you more about the story of the Arbroath Smokie as well as where to buy it and eat it.

Arbroath is also home to one of Scotland’s most historic sites, Arbroath Abbey, where the Declaration of Arbroath was signed by Scottish nobles in 1320.

Location 1: Heart of Angus

A trip to Angus would not be complete without a visit to Glamis Castle, home to the Earls of Strathmore for over 600 years and the legendary setting for Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’.

Be sure to experience the great outdoors during your visit. The magnificent Angus Glens, the eastern gateway to the Cairngorms National Park, are rich with wildlife and dramatic scenery and offer miles of forest trails and ancient drove roads, perfect for gentle rambles or serious hikes.
