We at Visit Angus would like to say a huge thank you to the fantastic businesses for getting involved in our 2019 advent calendar this month. Thousands of people entered the competitions, and 24 lucky winners each received a great prize to enjoy.

Firstly to ANGUSalive, the trust responsible for museums, country parks and archives in Angus as well as Webster Memorial Theatre. ANGUSalive have a fabulous programme of events and shows throughout the year for all to enjoy.
Forfar Indoor Sports is open all year round, with ice skating in the winter months and roller skating during the summer. Next door, Frosty’s soft play centre offers great fun for little ones.
Royal Hotel in Forfar have a fantastic restaurant and bar offering warm hospitality as well as delicious lunches, dinners and afternoon teas all week round.
Just outside of Forfar you can find Murton Farm, Nature Reserve and Tearoom. Here you can meet the friendly animals, take a leisurely stroll, play in the park and enjoy a bite to eat. There are regular events all year round too.
Newton Farm Holidays offer a unique experience, with award winning family friendly farm tours to meet the animals and find out where your food comes from as well as alpaca walking experiences.
Ogilvy Vodka are Scotland’s first producer of potato vodka. Visit their recently opened visitor centre near Glamis where you can jump on the Tattie Box trailer and take a tour of the distillery.
Enjoy an authentic homemade Greek feast at Andreou’s Bistro in Arbroath. Sample some of the traditional options on the menu, including Dolmades, Beef Stifado and Meze Platters.
Barry Mill near Carnoustie is a working water-mill with a fascinating history, set in stunning surroundings. Don’t miss a visit to this National Trust for Scotland property.
Home to the Earls of Strathmore, and setting of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, Glamis Castle has witnessed over a thousand years of history. Visit the castle for a guided tour to hear some of the fascinating stories.
WeeCOOK are a family restaurant and award winning pie makers. Based at Barry Downs Holiday Park in Carnoustie, the restaurant offers friendly service and delicious fresh food.
Arbroath Abbey is famous for the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in 1320, and 2020 marks the 700th anniversary of this famous day. What better time to visit and enjoy a special programme of commemorative events.
Take a ride on the Caledonian Railway in Brechin. The railway operates heritage and steam hauled carriages on a four mile track from Brechin to Bridge of Dun, as well as special events including the Easter Eggspress and A Day Out with Thomas.
Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort is the perfect location for golf, fishing, dining and luxury self catering breaks in Angus. The resort also has a fantastic thistle maze to explore and some great walks to enjoy. Lots of events take place here throughout the year as well, including comedy nights and live music.
The Bothy Experience in Glamis village is home to the award winning Gin Bothy. The Bothy Beginnings room takes you through the Gin Bothy journey while the Bothy Tales room tells the story of Scottish Bothies. Sample the gin in the tasting rooms, or buy a bottle to take home.
Try your hand at paddle boarding or rock climbing with Sup 2 Summit, an outdoor activity company operating between Aberdeen and Dundee. Enjoy paddle boarding at a variety of locations in Angus, including Montrose Basin and Forfar Loch, and rock climbing at Kirriemuir Quarry.
House of Dun, another National Trust for Scotland property, is a stunning Georgian style mansion house near Montrose. Take a guided tour of the house to learn about its 250 years of history, and enjoy a walk in the surrounding woodlands.
Bonfest is an annual music festival which takes place in Kirriemuir, to honour rock legend Bon Scott, lead singer of AC/DC, who was born in the town. Get your tickets now for the 2020 festival.
