Winter Walks & Takeaway: Carvings, Grotesques, and Gargoyles
9 December 2020, 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
£15
Our way of celebrating the wonders of winter and the festive season at this tricky time.
Join us for a series of guided walks around Hospitalfield grounds, after dark and during the day as we discuss the moon and astronomy, the intricate stone carvings of Hospitalfield’s architecture and the complex world of mushrooms and fungi.
At the end of each walk you will be able to takeaway delicious food cooked in our kitchen at Hospitalfield by chef Simon Brown. Menus are inspired by the topics of each walk.
Join Alasdair Sutherland, Hospitalfield volunteer tour guide and local historian as he leads you on a torch lit walk around the exterior of Hospitalfield House, highlighting the intricate Victorian carvings, grotesques, and gargoyles of this unique building.
