Angus is a small part of Scotland with a mighty history from Pictish times onwards – it is the birthplace of Scotland. The region was anciently called Angus after the brother of King Kenneth II to whom it was granted by the king after his victory over the Picts.
The signing of the Declaration of Arbroath at Arbroath Abbey in 1320 marked Scotland’s establishment as an independent nation. The majestic Glamis Castle which has been the ancestral seat to the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne since 1372 is the legendary setting for Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

If your clients are looking to get away from it all they can take a calming breath here in Angus – from the stunning scenery of the rolling hills and glens to the sandy white beaches along the beautiful coastline in the east of Scotland.
Your clients can visit spectacular Reekie Linn Waterfall on the River Isla that flows south from the Cairngorms Mountains through Glen Isla before merging with the River Tay. When it’s in spate the double-falls at the Reekie Linn become one massive, surging torrent, one of the most spectacular in Scotland.
Along the Arbroath Cliff Path, visitors can not only enjoy stunning views but also discover a number of fascinating rock formations such as The Deil’s Heid, and Needles E’e.
Food you say? Of course, there is the most famous of Scottish delicacies – the Arbroath Smokie. Also an award winning pie maker, a range of Gin, Whisky and Vodka Distilleries and locally grown and reared produce to tickle your tastebuds.
