Angus is full of wonders to explore, from landscapes and wildlife to outstanding food and drink.

Pay a visit to the stunning Montrose Basin and it’s visitor centre where you can use a variety of binoculars and telescopes to see the huge variety of wildlife that make their home on the 750 hectare basin. Travel on to Kirriemuir, where you will find the birthplace of JM Barrie who created Peter Pan. Round off your day with a visit to the Gin Bothy Experience in nearby Glamis village to browse the range of handcrafted gins and ciders on offer.

There’s lots more to discover on day two. Start off with a visit to House of Dun, a beautiful Georgian mansion house surrounded by scenic woodland. Last stop is Arbroath and a boat trip to see the Bell Rock Lighthouse, the oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse, known as one of the seven wonders of the industrial world. Don’t leave Arbroath without trying an Arbroath Smokie, a local delicacy of haddock, smoked over hardwood to give a unique flavour.
