Description

HOPE is a charitable trust established in 1994. It is a thriving organic garden located in Arbroath, in the grounds of Hospitalfield House. HOPE provide horticulture training and work experience to people with learning disabilities who live in the Angus area.

The onsite shop sells seasonal organic produce grown by trainees: Potatoes, Courgettes, Cabbage, Kale, Onions, Beetroot, Carrots, Tomatoes, Apples, Soft fruit, Rhubarb, Plums, Salad veg and more. HOPE also sell a variety of bedding plants, shrubs, herbs and fruit bushes (open from March to December).

HOPE depend on local volunteers to help maintain the garden and support trainees as mentors. They also run monthly volunteer days for those less able to commit to weekly volunteering. HOPE is a charity supported by generous donations from trust funds, local organisations and individual donors, supporting a small team of garden staff and ensuring the upkeep and development of the project.

HOPE have supplied fresh organic produce to local community food projects over the pandemic and have held stalls at Arbroath Market. See updates on Facebook.
